How to Become an Herbalist on "World of Warcraft"

The Herbalism profession in World of Warcraft is very useful and valuable, especially when used in conjunction with Alchemy. Herbalism allows the player to find and pick the various herbs and flowers that grow all throughout the game world. These materials can then be used with the Alchemy profession to create powerful potions and elixirs, which can restore Health and Mana or even temporarily increase some of the player’s attributes. Herbalism is taught in all of the game’s major cities, so even low-level players should have no trouble starting down that career path.
Step 1Look at your Map (click M) to find the major city closest to your location. For the Alliance, the cities of Darnassus, the Exodar, Ironforge and Stormwind are the main hot spots. For the Horde, the cities of Orgrimmar, Silvermoon City, Thunder Bluff and the Undercity are what you should be looking for. All of these cities are located in the game’s starting zones, so you should be able to locate the nearest one without much trouble.

Step 2Ask one of the guards (right click on the NPC) about the trainer once you reach your respective major city. When talking to a guard, click Professions and then Herbalism, and he will place a marker on your map denoting the location of the trainer.

Step 3Talk to the trainer. You will see a list of possible skills to learn, and one of them should be Apprentice Herbalist. Select it and then click Train at the bottom of the window.

Step 4Open your Spellbook (click P) and you will find that you now have an ability called Find Herbs. When you activate this ability, it will cause any herbs in your immediate area to show up as yellow dots on your mini-map. By scrolling over the yellow dot, you can see what type of herb it is.

Step 5Right-click on any herbs you find to begin the process of picking it. If you are successful, a “loot” window will open that will allow you to collect the herbs and add them to your inventory.
